Community Tutoring meets on the second floor of Lincoln Library on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. near the Multipurpose Room. It is open to ALL adults in Springfield who are interested in continued learning or in tutoring others. If you think you might have something to learn (or teach), please just show up.
Are you an adult who knows deep down that there is more to life if only you further your education? Do you want to read better, write better, or finish your GED? Lincoln Library can help you figure out where to start and how to access resources. If you are interested in volunteering as a tutor, please just come to a session.
There will be limited activities available for the children of tutors and learners.
The Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) will be available on the third Monday and Wednesday of the month, and is provided through our partners at The Springfield Literacy Project. TABE is a diagnostic test used to determine a person’s skill levels and aptitudes. Not all learners will need to take the TABE.
This trial program will run through the end of November 2017.
