The original Carpenter Street Hotel opened its doors in February, 1997, primarily to cater to the patients and families visiting world-renowned Prairie Heart Institute at St. John’s Hospital and other healthcare facilities, including Memorial Medical Center and SIU School of Medicine. Since that time, we have become a preferred destination for all travelers visiting the Springfield area, whether for business, pleasure or both.
