About

The Illinois AFL-CIO represents nearly 900,000 union members and is the voice of all working families in the state. Our power lies with the many and diverse people we represent in a multitude of workplaces and in our ability to affect change.

The State Federation helps improve the lives of working men and women by promoting the rights of workers to join a union and by making sure their voices are heard at the state capitol. In addition to a full-time presence in Springfield fighting for strong labor laws, the Illinois AFL-CIO also helps shape political dialog around issues that affect workers. We work with members at election time to register voters and educate them on issues and candidates records.

The State Federation maintains a strong working relationship with the media, issues a weekly update during the legislative session and maintains an up-to-date Web site. The Illinois AFL-CIO and the National AFL-CIO hold training sessions for affiliated unions on topics such as organizing, understanding labor law, political involvement, and local union financial reporting.

The Illinois AFL-CIO is very active at the grassroots level. The Illinois AFL-CIO works with community service liaisons on hundreds of community projects that help achieve dignity and respect for all workers.

About

The most famous road in the world first came into being in 1926 as part of the new numbered highway system and Chicago is where Route 66 begins.

The United States Department of Transportation has designated certain US roads as National Scenic Byways because of their special significance to the American people. Route 66 in Illinois received that recognition in 2005. Our non-profit organization has the responsibility for the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway and it is our mission to…”enhance and promote economic opportunities for each Illinois Route 66 community by preserving Illinois Route 66 Heritage and by sustaining and increasing heritage and cultural tourism…”

We serve 90 communities in Illinois; from Chicago to the Chain of Rocks Bridge near Madison, IL. Most have a population of only 2,500 or less. We help attractions, small businesses, and communities take full advantage of their Route 66 resources to provide the best possible experience for visitors from around the world. We also provide information to travelers to help them plan their adventure down Route 66.

Whether it is helping a “mom &; pop” restaurant get new tuck pointing for their restaurant, aiding a small business with one employee in setting up free Google Services, or helping a traveler on Route 66 to find the best milkshake in Illinois, we are there to find a solution.

INB-150x86.png

About

At INB, we are a community of people serving the communities around us. Based in Abe Lincoln's hometown of Springfield, IL, we make it a business practice to understand what our communities want and need. We learn about each of our markets and their goals, and then we work with local business leaders and individual community members to meet those goals.

Being a community bank means local decision-making happens quickly and efficiently. It means that your banker knows your name and your commercial lender meets you for coffee. It means that our people invest back into the communities they live in year-round to make them better places to live and work. You'll find our staff chairing community boards, working at the local food bank, and helping the children of our community through organizations like the Boys and Girl Scouts. We also provide financial support to hundreds of organizations through event sponsorship.
